Tea Room Assistant x 2

 

Position A - 11 hours (over 2 days)

Position B - 16.5 hours (over 3 days)

Fixed Term Contract for 9 months, with potential to become permanent

£8.30 p/h

Chataways Tea Room was established in July 2018 in Tardebigge, Worcestershire. We provide an outstanding selection of teas, coffees, soft drinks, snacks, breakfasts, lunches, afternoon teas, etc. The business has established an excellent local reputation for its great food and service and in particular its themed afternoon tea events and parties.

 

Working as a key part of the team, the employee/s will need to be proficient in all areas of the day to day tasks of running the Tea Room. Key duties include:

 

  • Opening and closing the tea room, adhering to the systems in place

  • Meeting and greeting customers

  • Serving light meals and beverages

  • Responsible for keeping the kitchen clean and in a workable condition

  • Adhering to hygiene and health and safety regulations

  • Washing up of crockery, cutlery, etc

  • Taking payment via cash and card transactions

  • Answering the telephone, checking messages, taking bookings & dealing with enquiries

  • Cashing up the till at the end of the day

  • Maintaining stock levels

  • Ensuring correct rotation of stock

  • Checking telephone messages each day and dealing with customer enquiries

  • Designated keyholder

  • Ensure the tea room is presented to the highest standard

  • Preparing the dining area for service, including cleaning, sweeping, mopping and laying of tables when necessary

  • To assist with keeping the communal areas clean and presentable

  • To assist with any hospitality functions, including the preparation of decorations, food and drink for events

  • Occasional running of events and birthday parties (training will be given)

Although currently open to the public on a part-time basis Chataways Tea Room hosts regular meetings and events outside of standard opening hours. You must therefore be flexible as this post may involve some evening and weekend working.

 

Standard daily working hours: 09:15 - 14:45
